the top of the front page now says who i am, what i do most days, what i am working on right now and where the interest came from, in plain sentences: a tagline, what i actually do, the current research (darkfi, penumbra, identity, with anoma, nym, namada and tari a line below), the newest notes, background, projects and conversations, a few lines away from the chain and the principles. the live panel, the scripts and the datasets moved below all of that: the scripts list is six rows with the rest on the scripts page, and the seven datasets are one line. the about page says how i work in four paragraphs instead of seven, and the fonts, the policy, the hosting and the bull moved to a colophon page.

i read every page against one set of rules and rewrote the sentences that failed them: a person does the verb, a fact stands without a contrast to lean on, and a line built to be quoted got cut. the front page opens with a different sentence, in the first person. the five notes keep every figure they had, checked number by number, and each carries a new proof. the about page is new from the first line, and the list of projects i am working on went through the same pass.

builderwatch reads who built the last blocks out of the extra data of their headers, and counts the slots that got no block: two builders made 72% of one hour. stakeyield reads what staked ether earns from the contracts, lido's rebases from its own events and ten liquid staking tokens a week apart, and says so when a rate did not move at all. l2fees prices a real transfer and a real swap on ethereum and thirteen rollups by each chain's own fee oracle, execution gas and layer-1 data apart. cards on the scripts page, rows and three more nightly datasets on the front page.

pages cross-fade into each other where the browser can, the header stays put with a hairline once you scroll, a note shows how far you are in it, rows lift under the pointer, the block ribbon slides instead of redrawing and a new block flashes the status line. css does all of it where css can, and none of it waits on a script. three notes the same day: week 38 in numbers, an hour of blob space and what a dollar earns, every number from the scripts run that morning.

a section on the front page for the systems i am researching: darkfi, penumbra, anoma, nym, namada and tari, one line each on what holds my attention and where the code and the docs live. i work on them and represent none of them, and a line under the list says so. the now page says why darkfi comes first.

the last 256 blocks as a stepped base-fee line with each block's fullness as a bar behind it, drifting left as new blocks land, and a ribbon of the last 32 blocks inside the live panel; one small call to a public node every twelve seconds while the tab is open (privacy), nothing with live numbers off. a detail of potter's bull beside the column on wide screens, from the mauritshuis, public domain. i rewrote the about page, added a second address and read every page once more for voice; the numbers did not move.

blue ink on ledger paper: one column, hairlines for the borders, newsreader for the reading, mono for the numbers. the front page opens with one sentence and a status line with the chain as it is when you arrive: block, base fee, the two prices, fear and greed, berlin. the notes carry topic tags, the scripts and the four nightly datasets sit in rows, and a button in the header switches between light and dark, one word in local storage (privacy). the notes kept every letter, and since a proof covers the bytes of the whole page i stamped both again; the first proofs stay in the repository history.

blobwatch (who bought the blob space and what they paid, rollup by rollup), lendrates (supply and borrow rates on aave, spark and compound, and the sky savings rate, read from the contracts) and rpcprobe (which public rpcs answer, and what they let you do). cards on the scripts page, lines on the front page. and the scripts page no longer runs off the side of a phone: the longest install line scrolls inside its card now.

the front page said "on x since 2015" as if the date vouched for the numbers, so i removed it. the about page keeps the registration date and nothing more, and the verify page says what a page can and cannot prove.

the key carries two ariadne proofs, a gist on github and a dns record on this domain, that keyoxide checks in your browser; see the verify page. the key is on keys.openpgp.org as well.

every note now has an opentimestamps proof next to it, the .ots file. an indexnow key, so search engines hear about a change the moment i publish it, and a script hands the main pages to the wayback machine after each publish.

week 37 in numbers: the base fee by hour of day, nine stablecoin pegs and one hour of large transfers, every number from the scripts on github with the command next to it. a chart image under /img/notes/. one of these every week from now on.

every tile on the home page now has a second and a third source (coinbase and kraken for the prices and the chart, a fourth public node for the base fee), the page tries a failed request once more, and when a tile gives up anyway the page says why that happens and offers a "try again" link instead of a silent dash. i dropped cryptocompare: it wants an api key now. the privacy table and methods list the new hosts.

fonts served from here, with no font network. a content security policy on every page, listing the only hosts a page may call. new pages: verify (accounts, pgp key, how to check a commit), methods, data with the daily base fee dataset read live, scripts with live status, privacy with a switch for the live numbers, now, this changelog. a signed security.txt, the key at /pgp.txt and through web key directory, a json feed next to the atom one, a web manifest, structured data on every page, a skip link for keyboards.

berlin time and weather next to the live numbers, coordinates under the portrait, the latest note as a card with a quote, the six repositories as cards, a three-column footer, humans.txt.
